Saving the Future through Agriculture

The Commissioner
The Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources under the leadership of the Hon. Commissioner His Excellency DR. NASIRU YUSUF GANUWA is primarilty responsible for planning, formulation, implementation and coordination of agricultural policies of the State. Policy implementation carried out through its departments and parastatals which are as follows:
I. Kano State Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (KNARDA)
II. Kano State Agricultural Supply Company (KASCO)
III. Kano State Zoological & Wild life Management Agency (KAZOWMA)
Farming is the major occupation of 90% of the State population with majority of them having 11-30 years experience Majority of farmers are within the age bracket of 30-50 years, Only about 30% of farmers have formal western education.
